How can we help?
Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, a real person reads every message.
Using CoCap
Who is Kaira?
Kaira is your AI English coach. Her mark sits in the middle of the top bar on every screen — tap it and speak or type. She replies, corrects gently one thing at a time, and never judges. Hinglish is completely fine.
What are the tabs at the bottom?
Five: Home is where a session starts and tells you the one thing to do next. Learn is the lesson ladder. Vocabulary is word cards, one swipe at a time. Speak is your sixty seconds out loud. Grammar is Hindi in, English out. Kaira is not a tab — she is in the top bar, on every screen. Everything else lives behind the ☰ menu at the top left, or in search.
What do the slash commands do?
In your chat with Kaira, type "/" and a menu of her tools opens: /word makes a word card, /story writes a story at your level, /simplify takes hard English and gives it back at your level, and /pronounce starts a drill on the sounds Indian speakers find hardest. Kaira asks a question first, so what you get back actually fits you.
What is Speak for a Minute?
A daily speaking drill. You get a topic picked for your level, a short warm-up, then you speak for 60 seconds. You get a fluency score, and your clip is saved privately so you can hear how much you have improved. Open it from the Speak tab.
How do CapCoins work?
CapCoins are reward points you earn by practising — sessions, lessons and streaks. Open ☰ menu → CapCoins & Rewards to see your balance, do the daily check-in and spend them in the vault. CapCoins are in-app rewards only: they have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
How do streaks work?
Your streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed practice. Miss a day and it resets. Your current streak is shown on Home and on your profile.
What is on the Home screen?
Home is your day: your check-in, the single next thing worth doing, and your streak and level at the top. It decides for you, so you do not have to pick from a menu of features every time you open the app.
How do I look up a word?
Use the search icon in the header — type any word, even part of it, and you will get matches with meanings in English and Hindi. Tap one for the full word card. Search works from every screen. You can also tap any word inside a Kaira message.
Where are my saved words?
The Vocabulary tab holds your deck. Words you have saved are in the Saved list inside it — swipe through them the same way as any other card.
How does my English level work?
As you practise, CoCap collects evidence from your speaking and your lessons and works out your CEFR level — A1 to C2, the same international scale used by exam boards, colleges and employers. It is never something you set by hand. Open ☰ menu → My English level to see your band and exactly which evidence produced it.
Is my level an official certificate?
No. Your CoCap level is an honest, AI-assessed measure of how your practice is going. It is not an accredited qualification, it is not issued by an exam body, and CoCap is not affiliated with IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or any other exam board.
Can I practise with a real person?
Not yet — CoCap does not match you with other learners or with tutors. Kaira is available any time, day or night, for as long as you want, and she will run a mock interview or a real-life conversation with you on request.
The mic is not working — what do I do?
In the Android app, open your phone Settings → Apps → CoCap → Permissions → Microphone → Allow, then reopen CoCap. In a browser, tap the lock icon near the address bar → Site settings → Microphone → Allow, then reload the page. If it still fails, check no other app is holding the mic.
Can I use CoCap offline?
Partly. Saved words and downloaded lessons stay available without internet. Kaira and any scoring need a connection, because they run on our servers.
Signing in
How do I log in?
There is one box on the sign-in screen: type your phone number OR your email address, whichever you signed up with. We send a code to it, you type the code, and you are in. If you have set a password you can use that instead. On the website you can also continue with Google; that option is not available inside the Android app.
I am not receiving the code
Check the number or address you typed, wait up to 60 seconds, then tap Resend. There is a 60-second cooldown between sends. If it is an email, look in your spam folder. Still stuck? Email hello@cocap.in and we will get you in.
The resend button is disabled
There is a 60-second cooldown between sends, to stop the codes being used for spam. Resend re-enables once the timer finishes.
My code expired
Codes expire after 5 minutes for security. Tap Resend to get a fresh one.
Why do you need my phone number or email?
It is how you sign in, and it is what keeps your progress, your streak and your CapCoins tied to one account that only you can open. Having both a number and an email on your account is the safest setup — if you lose access to one, the other gets you back in. You can add or change either from Settings → Account → Ways to sign in.
Can I log in with a password instead of a code?
Yes. Set a password from Settings → Account → Change password, then sign in with your phone number or email plus that password — no code needed.
I changed my phone number
You can move your account to a new number yourself: Settings → Account → Ways to sign in → Phone. We send a code to the new number to check it is really yours. If you cannot get in at all, email hello@cocap.in and we will help after verifying it is you.
Your account
Where are my account settings?
Tap ☰ at the top left, then your name at the top of the menu — that is Account. From there: My profile, My English level, CapCoins & Rewards, Settings, Help & support and Send feedback.
How do I edit my profile?
Account → My profile, then tap Edit at the top right to change your name, city, bio and what you are practising for. Tap your photo to change it.
How do I download my data?
Settings → Account → "Download my data" exports everything we store about you as a JSON file.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account actions → "Delete my account". Deletion has a 30-day grace period, so you can change your mind — open Settings again and tap "Keep it". After 30 days it is permanent. There is nothing to cancel first, because CoCap is free. If you cannot sign in, email hello@cocap.in and we will delete it for you within 30 days.
Can I delete just some of my data instead?
Yes, and your account stays open. You can delete voice clips from Speak for a Minute, and saved words from your Vocabulary deck, one at a time. For anything else — a particular chat with Kaira, or anything else we hold — email hello@cocap.in and we will remove it within 30 days.
Who can see my profile?
Only what you choose. Settings → Privacy → "Public profile" controls whether other learners can find your card at cocap.in/u/…. Turn it off and your profile is private. Your practice sessions and your chats with Kaira are never public either way.
How do I change the language Kaira explains in?
Settings → Coaching → "Your language". Kaira always teaches in English — your chosen language is only used to explain something when you are stuck. The "Hindi help" control just below it sets how much of your language she mixes in.
Is my data safe?
Your practice history and your chats with Kaira are stored securely, are never public, and are never sold. Your voice recordings are private to you and you can delete them any time. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we hold and who processes it.
The Android app
Is there an Android app?
Yes — CoCap is on Google Play, and everything in it is free. It is the same CoCap as the website, with your microphone working natively. You can also keep using cocap.in in any browser; your account, progress and CapCoins are the same in both.
Do I need to buy anything in the app?
No. The app has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Nothing in CoCap is behind a payment.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Settings → Notifications lets you switch rewards and practice reminders on or off, and set Quiet hours so nothing non-urgent reaches you overnight. Service announcements about your own account are always sent. To silence CoCap completely, use your phone Settings → Apps → CoCap → Notifications.
The app looks stuck or a screen is blank
Pull down to refresh, or close and reopen the app. If it keeps happening, tell us from Settings → Support → Send feedback — the report includes which screen you were on and which version you are running, which is usually all we need.
Which version am I on?
Settings → About → Version. Quote that number if you report a problem; it is the same number shown in the Play Store listing.
Cost
Is CoCap free?
Yes — CoCap is completely free for everyone. Kaira, the Learn zone, Vocabulary, Grammar and Speak for a Minute are all included at no cost. There are no plans, no subscription, no card needed and no daily caps.
Is there a Pro plan or paid upgrade?
No. CoCap has no paid tier, no Pro plan and no premium upgrade — every feature is open to every learner for free.
Do I need to pay or enter card details?
Never. CoCap does not ask for payment or card details anywhere in the app, and the Android app has no in-app purchases. If something ever asks you to pay to use CoCap, it is not us — please report it to hello@cocap.in.
Getting help
How do I contact a human?
Use the message box on the Help & support screen, or tap "Talk to a human" in this chat to raise a ticket. You can also email hello@cocap.in. We reply within about 2 working days.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Account → Send feedback, or Settings → Support → Send feedback. It reaches us directly and tells us which screen you were on and which version you are running, which usually saves a round of questions. You can attach a screenshot too.
Something Kaira said was wrong or upsetting
Please tell us — Send feedback, and pick "Something broke" or "This annoyed me". Paste or describe what she said. Kaira is an AI and she does get things wrong; every report is read by a person and it is how we fix her.
